Keep the lid open. Keep the work running.

Close a laptop and it goes to sleep, and so does everything it was doing. Propt holds the lid open about an inch, so your AI agents, downloads and long jobs keep going while you step away.

How it works

An inch of space keeps your laptop awake.

A laptop treats a closed lid as a signal to sleep. Propt stops the lid about 24 mm short of closing, so the laptop stays on and whatever it was running keeps going. No settings to change.

1

Set it on the front edge

The base rests on the palm rest and hooks over the front of your laptop.

2

Lower the lid onto it

The lid's front edge settles into the grip and stops about an inch open.

3

Step away

Your laptop stays awake. Come back to finished work instead of a stalled task.

Propt Atlas

Holds the lid like it's holding the sky.

Atlas is a small kneeling figure that sits at the front of your laptop and holds the lid in his hands. It's a desk piece people ask about, and it does a real job.

  • Locks on at both ends. His hands grip the lid and the base hooks the front edge, so he stays put.
  • Fits lids 4 to 7 mm thick. Stick-on shims fill the gap for thinner laptops.
  • Planned finishes. Bronze, black and silver.

Propt Clip

The simple one. Set it once and forget it.

Clip grips the top edge of your screen and props the lid on a flat spring. A thumbwheel on top sets the fit for your laptop.

  • Adjustable fit. Turn the thumbwheel to fit any lid from 2 to 9 mm thick.
  • Gives under pressure. The spring flexes instead of pushing back against your screen.
  • Soft contact points. Silicone pads on the grip and the foot.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Will it keep my MacBook awake?

A MacBook sleeps when its lid closes. Propt is designed to hold the lid about 24 mm open at the front edge, enough that the laptop doesn't treat it as closed. Your normal idle-sleep settings still apply.

Will it scratch my laptop?

Every surface that touches your laptop is lined with soft silicone, and the grip holds the lid by its edge, away from the display.

Does it work with my laptop?

Propt doesn't depend on your operating system, so it works the same on Mac, Windows and Chromebook. Measure your lid's thickness at the front edge: Clip's thumbwheel adjusts for any lid from 2 to 9 mm, and Atlas fits lids from 4 to 7 mm with the included shims.

Can I close my laptop with it on?

No. Take it off before you fully close the lid. Pressing a screen down onto anything can damage it.

Is it safe to leave my laptop running?

Leaving the lid open lets heat escape on a desk. Don't put a running laptop inside a bag, with or without Propt.
